Primary Areas of Interest and Areas of Work

The Womanist Laboratory is an Africana, Americana women lead organization which functions in advancing the knowledge and praxis related to between people and the environment. The womanist laboratory’s aim is the restoration of Africana-Americana culture and a way of life through cultural, social, agricultural, and environmental justice. The womanist offers support to individuals, families, and community-based organizations engaged in the sustainability and resiliency of any Africana, Africana Black, Indigenous, or Afro-diasporic community. The womanist is invested in maintaining biocultural diversity of indigenous people globally and particularly the preservation of Africana cultural traditions, beliefs, practices, and other ways of being.
